Our August pictures posted in reverse order...so here is our month in reverse. Millie was so excited to have corn on the cob for a Sunday dinner. She convinced Lou to help her pull of the husks.
Lou is usually the only kiddo I can convince to go on walks. Here we are on a Sunday morning stroll. She insisted on some time out of the stroller. I loved seeing our cute shadows walking together.
We held a game night that we have been meaning to hold for ages. Phin tagged along and had the best time bantering with my friend Verna's husband Reagan.
I also was able to go and see my bestie Amy's son at one of his football games. It was so fun to chat along the sidelines and to see this whole world/football culture that their family has entered.
This kid is growing up so fast. I took him on a mini date to the Backyard Brick Oven for some pizza. He loved it...and quickly told me all the ways that I could improve my pizza.
I have been trying to tackle a project or two each week when the kids are in school. This week it was our freezer. I found some containers that help contain different categories of food. Here is the after...

Phin doesn't have a locker for his books at school but he does have a locker in PE. We spent a little time practicing putting in a combination to open a lock one evening.

We have lots of time in the afternoon before the kids are done with school. I have been trying to keep Lou off of screens and kinetic sand is one of her favorite.
Max is home from his mission! He gave an amazing homecoming talk and JB spoiled us with pulled pork at the luncheon afterwords. Max will be heading off to BYU this Fall...which makes me feel quite old. JB and Mary were married when I was still a student at BYU.
We joined Seth's sister Tawyna and her family at Tony's grove for a quick camping trip. We love Tony's Grove...but we didn't love the wasps that have overtaken the campground. For our last dinner we ended up eating inside of our tent to keep the wasps away.
We spent hours at the lake on Saturday playing in the water.
I love seeing these cute sisters together.
Lou has been loving to color with markers.
The kids all headed back to school on the same day.
Lou joined Seth and I on a little date to a neighbor's wedding reception.

Seth has a new hobby...making beef sticks. He got a beef stick gun and was trying some casing in this photo.
We had back to school night at the Elementary. Millie was so excited for the comfy corner in her classroom.
We have some pretty spectacular sunflowers in our yard.
Phin had a friend over and we pulled out the shaved ice machine.
Millie has been loving Clue. This was my favorite game when I was little too.
Phin had 7th Grade Camp at his new Junior High. We walked around and met all of his teachers and mapped out his schedule.
I took each of the kids on a mini-date to pick out some new clothes for school and then to get a treat. Lou got to tag along on Millie's date.
The three oldest had a great time at Grandad's Lego camp. Here Millie is showing off an slow motion video that she had created.
Lou and I had quite a bit of one on one time while the kids were away. She loved playing with play-dough.
She also was my buddy at the car dealership while we had the oil changed and new brakes installed.

We went to Coconut Cove in Logan before dropping them off.
We also went to a very small zoo called Zootah in Logan.
I always have helpers when I am in the kitchen.
We celebrated National Root Beer Float Day at A&W.
Phin went to a Volleyball camp at his new Junior High. I was a little panicked when he texted me the first day. He said "I am the only boy." I quickly checked the advertisement for the camp and was relieved to find I did sign him up for a co-ed camp....I was even more relieved when another boy showed up to camp.
Silas chose a Dick's doughnut as his back to school shopping treat.
Millie, Silas and Lou all had swimming lessons in August.
We went and bought some serious shoes for Phin. It was confirmed that he literally has no arch...so he has a very supportive shoe and some supportive insoles as well.

We were down in Provo and stopped at the creamery. We hoped to get ice cream...but the line was out the door. We apparently showed up during one of the FSY class breaks. So we improvised and got a mint brownie instead.
We also went to Splash Summit. I had never been before and the kids LOVED it.
The wave pool was an absolute favorite. I stayed in for one wave session and it made me so motion sick...but the kids loved it. Silas looked like he was taking a nap at one point in the waves.
The little obstacle challenges were also a favorite...although Silas needed a little help to get on the first lily pad.
We also had Lou's preschool/childcare orientation. This girl was so excited to head back to school.
