12 MONTHS

Lou turned 12 months on a Friday in October.  As L.M. Montgomery said "I am so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."  I am so grateful I live in a world where there is Louisa.

 

Lou is wearing size 18-24 month clothes and size 4 diapers.  She is wearing size 4 shoes...although it is nearly impossible to keep shoes on her feet.

Here are her weekly pictures for the month.  I realized quite late that I had forgotten to take one at week 49.  It was conference weekend...so we were out of our normal routine and I forgot to get one on Sunday.  So here is one that doesn't quite match the others.

 

Lou got her hands on an Oreo this month...and absolutely loved it.  She also loves cheddar cheese, yogurt bites and pureed mango.

 

She is so very close to walking.  Here she is using our desk chair as a walker.

This is her favorite cabinet to empty...and she does that multiple times a day.

She also loves our little kid table where the kids do there computer work.  One day she climbed right up onto the chair and started clicking away on the mouse.

She loved the Fall Festival at Cross E ranch.

She also loves to climb up onto Silas' toddler bed. 

She had her first taste of cotton candy...she wasn't quite sure what to think about the fluffy pink stuff.

She LOVED the corn pit at Cross E ranch. 

Lou continues to be a huge Mama's girl and if I am around she wants to be right by my side.

We drove up in the mountains behind our home and I took some fun pictures of Lou.  I realized I left her binky in and was little disappointed...but that binky seems to be a part of Lou at this point.

Lou loves being in the trampoline.  She would be content to just crawl around in there finding leaves...but her siblings insist on bouncing her.

We visited the American West Center up in Logan in October.  Lou looked so gorgeous strapped to Seth's chest.

She loved playing in the leaves up Mueller Park Canyon.

She also loved playing with Papa's coat zipper.

She started to climb right up onto the kid table...so we had to put the little kid chairs in "time out."

She loves when I open the dishwasher and high tails it right over to explore.

We are so grateful that Lou made it to our family.  Happy 1st birthday to our rainbow girl

SEPTEMBER

My photos posted in the correct order...so here is our September chronologically.  I have been trying to get Silas and Lou to the library each week.  One trip we picked out the book Good Night Little Monsters and it quickly turned into Silas' favorite.  It took me a long time to convince him that the library needed this book back.

 

We had some really warm weather in September....so one adventure Friday we headed to the splash pad.

 

We actually ran into a few neighbors at the splash pad.

 

I completed the Labor Day triathlon. My time was 1:34:19 which was six minutes faster than my time in May.  

 

We had a ward camp-out at Camp Zarahemla in September.  The kids had the best time running around with friends.  They even did a little "nature" art.

Here is our cute crew in the morning.  It was a little chilly.

 

Millie and Silas convinced me to go on a little "hike" up to a flagpole.  Morgan county is gorgeous.

 

The kids loved playing on the tree swing.

 

Phin and some of his friends found a plant that acts like Velcro.  They built boats out of it and floated them down the creek.

 

We were talking about loose teeth...at this point Millie had a tooth that had been wiggly for weeks.  With the encouragement of some friends she was brave enough to pull it out.  It wasn't nearly as bad to loose it as she had imagined.

 

She woke up the next morning very disappointed that the tooth fairy hadn't visited...lucky for her the tooth fairy finally made it while we were at church.

 

A vendor Seth's company works with invited us to Hogle Zoo for a private event.  They fed us dinner and then we were able to wonder the zoo with much smaller crowds than we are used to. 

 

The Boo Lights were up so we were able to enjoy the lights near the end of our visit.

 

The kids were all excited about the face paint.

 

Silas and Lou had their 2nd Covid shot and a flu shot...so I rewarded Silas with a big sugar cookie.

 

We went to a Scarecrow Festival at the USU Botanical Garden up in Kaysville for an adventure Friday.

 

There were several Wizard of Oz displays...the kids loved them because that was our costume theme last year.

 

We went to a Preparedness Fair one Saturday.  The kids loved checking out all the special vehicles.

 

Phin purchased a balloon art kit with his own money.  He is hoping to turn this into a side hussle some day.

 

Phin is also working on his rollerblading...I don't remember it being quite this hard but I don't think I roller-bladed on a hill either.  We have found that Lou's car seat is a perfect "walker" for him.

 

The day Millie has been waiting 364 days for, finally arrived.

 

She loved unwrapping presents before school and spent all afternoon playing with her new gifts.

 

She was so excited to share a birthday treat with her class...she chose to hand out Scooby Snacks.  Her teacher also gave her this giant lollipop.

 

For this adventure Friday we went to Witch Fest at Garner Village. We met up with friends and had fun finding all the witches.  Silas didn't seem to be acting quite himself at the end of our visit. He just wanted me to hold him.

 

Shortly after we got home he threw up.  He had lots of tummy problems in September and we have since removed milk from his diet.

 

Our Idaho cousins were in town for Frightmares so I took Lou, Millie and Phin to meet up with them.

 

The next day we had a birthday party for Millie.  She wanted a traditional birthday...so we played lots of minute to win it games.

 

 

Millie's friends know her so well... she got lots of craft kits which she absolutely loved.

 

Millie begged me to get my Witch hat out.

 

I bought a Fall Festival Pass to Cross E and we loved going on Friday afternoons.

 

The corn pit is the kids favorite spot...including Lou.
