Here is another month in reverse... I thought I figured out how to get the pictures loaded in the correct order on my last two posts...but it didn't seem to work on this one. Here are a few peeks into Silas' school day.
Phin just completed his 3rd year of Let's Play Music. His last lesson was a station day where he rotated between several activities.
One Friday night we decided to head up Mueller Park Canyon to roast hotdogs and marshmallows...we got all loaded up and drove there...just to find out it was still closed for the season. So we improvised and went to Home Depot to buy a fire pit for our backyard. The first s'mores of the season tasted so good.
As soon as it starts to warm up a little the kids start asking about getting their pool out. It has still been a little chilly...but they settled for our water table.
One afternoon I found some mask kits in our craft closet...the kids had so much fun turning into superheroes.
Phin got his last Kiwi Crate box. He has loved these little projects and I will definitely be looking for another deal on a subscription. He was kind enough to let Millie help him with this project.
Phin had a talent show during music class at school.
He decided to play "Russian Sailor Dance" on the piano. He pretty much had it memorized and did such a great job introducing his piece.
Silas sat and played very patiently with this toy. He got all the little "chicken eggs" to the top and was so proud of himself.
We went to Lagoon for the first time this season. We actually had gone out around 11AM on a Saturday. We should have turned around as soon as we got to the off ramp in Farmington and found cars backed up all along the road. We waited in line and finally got parked...just to walk to the front and find several other massive lines. We would have had to wait in at least three long lines to even get in...so we decided to go home and come back in the afternoon once the entrance lines had died down. The entrance gates seem to bee taking forever because Lagoon is doing wristbands instead of hand stamps...I think it is because everyone is sanitizing their hands so much that hand stamps would wash off. It was so crowded out there...we haven't been a crowd like that for a long time. Here Seth is with the kids on the new Fire Truck themed ride.
We were happy to see Bulgy the Whale. This ride was pretty heavily damaged in the September wind storms.
Seth was a good sport and went on the teacups with the kids.
The kids were so disappointed when we initially turned around at Lagoon that we decided to pick up lunch and head to a park to cheer them up.
They cheered up pretty quickly with a hand-spun milkshake.
Silas asked for some floss when I was flossing one night...this little guy is apparently watching our every move.
We have continued visiting parks before we pick Phin up from school on Thursdays. Silas and Millie loved rolling/running down this hill.
Silas managed to find a little head massager and was very interested in how it works.
We got a new (to us) car in April. We ended up getting a Subaru Ascent and we couldn't be happier. It is so nice to have the kids a little more spaced out. The moon-roof, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot indicator and back-up camera are some of our favorite features. We joked that the next time we get a car it will be self-driving.
I took the kids to enjoy the cherry blossoms at the Capitol building one Friday afternoon. Not pictured...me slipping in the mud on the way back to the car.
We loved all the signs of Spring in our own yard this year.
Millie has been getting Highlights magazine in the mail. She got a new issue and sat down with Silas to do the spot-it page.
Silas is so good at playing with toys. Here he is with his Rescue Bot transformers all lined up. He transforms them one by one...it is adorable.
Millie's best school friend had a birthday in April. She loved celebrating My Little Pony style.
Silas all relaxed for a movie.
I found this picture of Phin's. I thought it was a drawing of him and Millie out on our swings. He told me it was of puppets.
Firefighter park continues to be one of our favorites.
This was the picture I took of Millie after she found out where all of her school projects eventually end up...she was devastated to find out that I throw most of them away after a few days. Millie treasures everything and was so sad to hear that some of her treasures were gone. I told her I would be happy to take a picture of any future treasures so that she can always remember them. A few days later we got a big box from Amazon in the mail and she told me that was where I should put all her treasures. So sad...
Phin got this paint by number kit for Easter. The moment we got home from our Escalante trip he got to work on this project.
