Millie hit the 16 month mark back in January. It was so fun to watch Millie experience Christmas this year. She loved getting a baby doll and has become a good little Mama.
Her hair has grown like crazy...this month we started pulling her hair back into a little pony tail...but someone is an expert at pulling out her bows and ponytail holders.
I found this dress at the DI and had to buy it for Miss Millie. It reminds me of the dresses I wore as a baby girl. Millie is all girl. This month we painted her toenails for the first time. I was painting mine to get ready for the cruise and she crawled right up into my lap and pointed at her toes. She may not say a ton of words...but this girl knows how to communicate.
Millie has become quite independent this month. She tries so hard to put on her own clothes and shoes. I was doing laundry one day and she walked off with her swimsuit and actually got it up over both legs.
Millie is starting to look less like a baby and more like a toddler. She is wearing 12 month clothes for the most part...but is starting to fit into some 18 month clothes. She just barely finished up the size 2 diapers we had and is now in size 3. She has just 3 teeth.
She loved tasting the snow from a big snowstorm we had. She also loves drinking out of my Cameback Water-bottle and chewing on ice. Other than that...she is not a great eater. I pumped breast-milk the entire cruise...because if this girl isn't drinking breast-milk I have no idea where she will get her nutrients from. Some days she will try lots of new foods and other days she turns up her nose to anything we put in front of her. It is no surprise that she never turns up her nose to ice cream or sweets.
Millie has also learned to say "cheese" when we take pictures of her.
I have been meaning to finish my story of why burning my leg on the scooter exhaust was a blessing in disguise. Seth's parents graciously watched Phin and Millie while we were on our cruise. Phin and Millie had so much fun with Grandma Jo and Granddad. Millie loved watching Grandma Jo and helping her with chores. One day she was dusting and accidentally burned her hand on the fireplace. The cruise ship medical staff gave me silver sulfadiazine to treat my burn and I had that on hand to help Millie. In the picture below you can see a little of Millie's bandage. Her hand has healed beautifully. Millie got to spend a day with my Best Friend Amy while my mom was visiting
Jeff, Kim and Carver in Phoenix. She adores Zoey and Zoey adores her.
Millie also adores her brother. She wants to be right next to him and doing everything that he is doing.
Phin update: Phin seems to have more energy than all of us combined. Here he is swimming on my yoga mat one morning.
I have been working out in the mornings and Phin and Millie love to crawl under me when I am doing planks or jump on my tummy when I am doing sit-ups. They are my motivation to be as healthy as I can. Phin will often imitate the exercise moves that I am doing...he is pretty good.
Phin loves preschool. He often talks about his school friends. He calls all the girls his girlfriends. Here are some photos of his recent artwork.
Phin became a Sunbeam this month. His transition has been pretty seamless. He loves his teachers and is learning so much. He often can be found singing church songs and talking about Jesus during the week...it makes our hearts very happy.
