WEEK 33

I wanted to give a special shout out to my talented Mom who made the dress I am wearing in the picture below.  I LOVE IT!  It is so nice to have something new to wear...and something that fits perfectly.

Last Sunday we headed up to my parent's house for family dinner.  It was a special day dinner because Jeff was up from Arizona and Sarah and Joe were down from Idaho.  Jeff must have brought some good weather with him from Phoenix.  We had a great time out in the yard.  My favorite part was teaching Scott and Jeff how to play Bocce ball...in the end they school me and Seth but it was still fun.

Do you recognize this guy?  It is actually our cute nephew Aaron...we think we have a great idea for his Halloween costume this year.

April 24th marked three years since Seth popped the question.  Below is a shot from the night that I said "yes."  I just can't help but say "yes" to this handsome guy...as evidenced by the Hot Wheels collection he has acquired.  Each time we go to the store he is somehow able to convince me that he needs just one...or two....or five more cars.  He told me he is just trying to build up my ability to say "no" before our little guy comes...I think I may be in for quite a bit of trouble.

Thursday we headed back to Ultimate Frisbee. I am enjoying the time to practice with my camera on the sidelines.  Here are a few of my favorite shots from this week.

Spring Break

Spring Break was last week...it was heavenly...I don't think I have ever needed a break as much as I needed this one.

So here is a little breakdown of my activities...

Last year over Spring Break I met the Pioneer Woman...this year I decided I would become a little more like her and cooked a few yummy meals.  You will notice the meals only go from Monday to Thursday...that is due to the large amount of leftovers that we need to finish off before next week.  Saturday we had Seth's parents over for breakfast and fixed some yummy pancakes.

Monday: Grilled Tilapia with Lemon Basil Vinaigrette.  It wasn't a Pioneer Woman Recipe but it sure was yummy.

Tuesday: We bought a Kirkland Master Carve, applewood smoked, boned ham.  We cooked it with a red current glaze and it was delicious.

Wednesday: Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce.  Another Pioneer Woman find...this one reminded me of her tomato soup but on pasta.  It was even better the second time we ate it.

Thursday: Spicy Dr. Pepper Shredded Pork.   I often don't take people seriously when they say spicy...but this one is super spicy and another Pioneer Woman find.  It made our house smell so good that the little girl next door asked why it always smells good around our apartment...and invited herself over for dinner sometime in the future.

Sunday: Lemon Blueberry Pancakes...seriously amazing.

So there is a little run down of the food...the rest of the break I spent time doing things I don't normally have time to do: cleaned fridge, cleaned oven top, got oil changed, got haircut, hung out with best friend, went to the temple with my mom, had lunch with Seth, etc.  I also spent a lot of time sitting around and trying to take it easy and attempted to learn how to use the camera we got for Christmas.  Below are a few shots I took over the break.  First up is a little self-portrait or belly portrait.  I can't get over looking down to see this... it is even stranger when it moves.  It should freak me out but really it just makes me giggle.

We headed to Ultimate Frisbee on Thursday night.  I sat on the sidelines and tried out my 55-200 lens.

The picture below is my favorite of Seth and Scott in action.

Overall it was a wonderful Spring Break.  Now I just have to gear myself up for nine more weeks of school...and more importantly nine more weeks until our little one makes his appearance.

Easter Weekend

We spent Easter weekend up in Cache Valley with Seth's family.

Jill and Peter were our hosts and we loved spending a little extra time with their little ones.

Saturday morning we headed down to their local park for some kite flying.  It wasn't really windy so the kite only stayed up if you were running.

The kids made their own kites out of string and plastic bags...running was still required

After kite flying we headed to another park for their community egg hunt.

Seth was a great assistant and held the plastic bag.

Then we headed to Seth's parent's house for a lovely lunch and for a joint baby shower with Seth's sister Beth, and her husband Philip, who are expecting a little girl in July.

We played the game of guess how big the belly is.  Seth was about an inch off...not too bad.

We were also blindfolded and had to guess what baby food was being fed to us...all I have to say is poor baby.

Seth enjoyed opening playing with many of the gifts.  Thank you everyone for the shower and for the wonderful Easter weekend.

MARCH RE-CAP

In case you haven't noticed... I have been a seriously poor blogger recently.  My number one reason for the lack of blogging...I can't carry the camera, I am already carrying the baby.   In my attempt to do better here is a re-cap from March, with pictures from the past or those I have "borrowed" from others blogs.

I took several trips down to Provo in March.  One was for an Aphasia workshop sponsored by Brigham Young University.  It is hard to believe that I started my freshman year at BYU thirteen years ago...it is even harder to believe that I can measure my life in decades rather than two year stints.  Below is a picture of me and my sweet cousin Stephanie my freshman year.

The workshop was held in the Hinckley Alumni and Visitors Center...which was built several years after I graduated.  We were on the third floor which had stunning views of Utah Lake.  The workshop was good but my favorite part of the day was meeting up with my friend Jenn for lunch.  Jenn and I met freshman year and lived across the hall from each other at Desert Towers.  I dug up this picture from April conference back in 2003/2004 of me and my three best college friends (Jenn is on the far right).  I am blessed to have such wonderful friends.

The following day I headed back down to Provo with my parents for the funeral of my Aunt Sandy's sister Annette.  I have great memories of Annette and will never forget the love and support she offered me as I dealt with sudden passing of my cousin Stephanie my sophomore year.  Here is a photo of me rocking the baby bump...or it rocking me.

I was delighted to spend some time catching up with my cousin Rachelle.  We also got to spend quite a bit of time visiting with Rachelle's brothers York and Greg.

Seth and I attended an all day childbirth preparation class in March.  I thought it might freak me out a bit...but it actually calmed quite a few of my fears.  Seth is much better than me at of the hee-hee-hoo breathing techniques but my favorite is when he does the Pac-man breathing.  I know that as long as I have Seth by my side keeping me smiling that I will be fine.
