Tuesday = Tunnels, Waterfalls and Croquet

After breakfast the crew headed out to Duke Power to learn all about Nuclear power.

The next stop was Stumphouse Tunnel.

Followed by Issaqueena Falls.

Then they hiked a beautiful trail to Yellow Branch Falls.

When they returned home we had a quick bite to eat and then headed to the Botanical Gardens for a game of croquet.  

Monday = Biltmore

We were blessed to have four visitors the week of Seth's graduation.  His mom and dad made the trek out with Seth's sister Beth and her husband Philip.  They had planned to arrive Sunday afternoon but missed their flight.  The next flight they were able to get on was the red eye...let me tell you there is a reason it is called the red eye.  They touched down in South Carolina around 9 a.m. on Monday morning.  After driving down to our apartment they drove two hours to Asheville, North Carolina to visit the Biltmore house.

We thought we would share a few pictures from Seth's journey at Clemson.  He wasn't always great about documenting his journey so we borrowed a few pictures from his graduate program coordinator and from a few friends. Seth's journey started out with an official head shot.     

In October 2010 his program traveled up to Washington, D.C. for the Urban Land Institute Fall Conference.    

It was Seth's first trip to D.C. and he was able to squeeze in a little sight seeing in the evenings.  He rented bikes with one of his classmates and rode all around the Mall one evening.  He was also able to meet up with his good friend Tyler who lives in the area.

Later that Fall his class enjoyed a class tour of Tiger Stadium.

In March of 2011, his class traveled to Atlanta to tour several developments.

In May of 2011 his class toured the coast of South Carolina and Georgia.  They called it Mini-Mester....I called it a vacation.  They traveled from Myrtle Beach to Savannah and enjoyed the sites all along the way.

In Fall 2011 his classmates helped out with a Kudzu cleanup project up in Greenville.  Throughout the semester the spent quite a bit of time up in Greenville, touring properties and preparing for their final projects.

In April 2012, Seth presented his final project with this group.  They had worked all semester on a development proposal.

DOGS and HOGS

This week was exhausting.  While Seth is officially done with school...I am not.  The last six weeks in school out here for a speech therapist are comparable to tax season for an accountant.  On Friday alone, I had 13 meetings with parents to set up speech therapy services for the 2012-2013 school year.  Needless to say I have been working quite a bit of overtime and by the time I get home I am exhausted and have little desire to fix dinner.  On Thursday night,  we decided to head down to College Avenue for a Clemson classic.

JUGHEADS is Clemson's hot dog spot.  This place just serves hot dogs with a variety of toppings and a few selected sides.  I ordered the Kirkland (chili, onions, mustard, ketchup & fries) and Seth ordered the The Spiller (chili, cheese, bleu cheese slaw, bacon & crispy onions.)  In case you didn't catch it most of the dogs are named after famous players or coaches.  We had an order of Clemson bleu cheese chips on the side. As my Nana used to say "It tastes good because I didn't have to cook it."

Saturday we participated in a Hands on Greenville (HOG) Service project.  We painted the exterior of an assisted living center.  We had a great time painting alongside many close friends.  After painting we treated ourselves to a movie...The Avengers.  Seth's favorite character was the Hulk...mine was Captain America.  The movie was very well done.  If you haven't seen it you should definitely put it on your list.  We spent the rest of the day relaxing at our pool and preparing for family to visit this week.
