Looking back at pictures...June was super busy around here. Millie started dance classes for the summer session. She was so excited to get dressed up and go to dance. She is taking dance at the same studio that I took classes from when I was a little girl.
The studio has a tall window in the waiting room that we are able to watch Millie through. Phin made a quick friend in another older brother.
During Millie's class, Phin watches her, colors and completes his summer bridge book...or does all three at the same time.
Phin also started some summer rec classes. Here he is after his first arts and crafts class.
I also signed him up for basketball.
While we wait for Phin, Millie plays at the park or plays with some toys I found in the Target Dollar Spot. This blue sand has been a favorite. It comes with little sand molds...including a mermaid. She likes to pretend that the Blue Mermaid has been trapped by Squidy like in her favorite Team UmiZoomi episode.
Silas has been a great sport about being toted all over for Phin and Millie's activities. He is content to be outside...
and also content to take naps on the go.
It wouldn't be summer without trips to Lagoon. We went for the first time on June 1st...I forgot my phone in my car but my best friend Amy shared this picture of Silas on his first train ride.
We also took a couple trips to Lagoon with Kate and Harvey.
We watched the magic show and the kids were absolutely mesmerized. When they were cutting a lady in half, Phin covered his eyes and said "I can't watch."
This picture absolutely melts my heart...Papa and Millie hand in hand.
The kids got their first taste of Dippin Dots on one of our Lagoon trips.
This is quickly becoming Phin's favorite place to strike a pose at Lagoon...and this is his favorite pose.
One evening we headed back out to Lagoon with Seth and went to Lagoon-A-Beach.
We had a mini South Carolina reunion when our friend Amanda came into town. It was so good to catch up with friends. I was excited to see Maren who was in my 12-13 year old Sunday School class when we were in South Carolina. She recently returned from a mission to Brazil. Her family now lives down in Utah County.
Phin and Millie loved the playground near where we held our little reunion.
We went to a party at the Splash Park...it included free Lucky Slice Pizza truck pizza.
It also included a little grab bag of prizes...the clown noses were a favorite.
We also got to see a baby Zebra and visit other animals in the mini petting zoo.
Then the kids were brave enough to get wet.
And then Phin was brave enough to get Uncle Jeff wet.
We also got a membership to the Children's Museum again. The kids absolutely love going and often ask if that is where we are going when we get in the car.
On our first trip we went with Jeff and Carver.
We also took Amy, Zoey and Connor.
On our next trip Sarah, Kate and Harvey joined us as well as Nona, Jane, Aaron, Spencer and Carver.
We wore Nona out...so she took a little nap with Silas when we got back to her house.
I was able to go to one day of girls camp this year and brought my little buddy Silas along with me. I volunteered to make the pillow treats for camp before the girls headed up.
Silas got lots of hugs from YW leaders. Here he is hanging out with our Young Women's President Karen.
Seth took Phin up to Grandad's Father and Sons outing. So I had a little special time with Silas and Millie. We went to a tree climbing competition at the park, stopped for our favorite specialty drink and had dinner at Chick-Fil-A.
Phin was delighted that his cousins Ashton, Mark and Gavin also attended the camp out.
He was quite entertained with the Light Saber glow stick that we packed for the trip. Seth said it took him a long time to settled down and fall asleep with his glow stick in hand.
We have also enjoyed many of the library summer programs. We went to the SeaQuest Aquarium's presentation and Phin was brave enough to touch this snake.
Our favorite presentation was the Drum Bus. Before entering the Drum Bus the kids got to make a maraca instrument and play a little number on the water jars.
I think they could have stayed on the drum bus all day.
The drum bus owner was so kind and offered me some headphones for Silas...who slept the entire time.
Phin also graduated from Upstart in June.
Seth and I were able to get away on a date to the Taste Makers Festival. There were several tents set up down at the Gateway with yummy food from restaurants like Rodizio Grill, Texas de Brazil, Dough, Ruby Snap, etc.
After tasting all the yummy goodies at the Gateway we hopped on Seth's scooter and enjoyed little tastes of yummy food at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Spencer's, Market Street Grill and The New Yorker....although the New Yorker served us calamari...that neither one of us particularly cared for.
We also went on a date as a family to Incredibles 2. Seth had been given tickets through his work and the kids were so excited. They loved munching on popcorn and drinking soda.
Millie wore her Belle dress...she can often be found in dress ups these days.
Summer has also meant more time with cousins. Here Phin is pushing Aaron and Millie on the swings.
Silas also got to meet his cousin Kira who was born the first full week of June. It has been so fun to see Kristi and Scott step into the role of parents.
Silas also took a nap in the sink at Nona's house...it is a good spot to keep him away from little hands that like to wake him up.
We have also been spending more time outside at Ultimate Frisbee, Softball and in our own backyard. Phin has loved his monster truck and was excited when Seth pulled out some wood to create a make shift ramp.
Our raspberry patch is finally producing. We have even had enough raspberries to share with neighbors this year.
Seth got a new office at work. We went over the night he was moving in for a visit. I have to say it is a gorgeous office...he has beautiful views of the mountains.
Phin and Millie loved writing on the windows with dry erase markers.
We haven't made it to many free summer lunches this summer. We did manage to go to Jordan River Park with cousins one Friday.
The Target Dollar Spot has been a favorite. I found some spray-able chalk...and it kept the kids busy for at least an hour.
One night we picked up a pizza for a picnic dinner and headed to the Layton City Amphitheater for a free showing of Little Mermaid. Millie loved meeting Ariel and Prince Eric before the movie.
The movie started at 7pm...which meant that our kiddos weren't out too late.
We went to the local car show with cousins. Phin and Millie loved all of the colorful cars.
They also loved the cars with tents.
Phin was excited to meet Darth Vader at the car show.
We also spotted Lightning McQueen.
We have also spent time at our Local Rec Center...this was a picture just before Silas' first swim.
I hold an umbrella over him the entire time. I may look silly but we are taking no chances with this little guy getting burned.
Phin and Millie have also spent more time in our little backyard pool. They seem to be more likely to play when bubbles and toys are involved. I cracked up to see Millie sunbathing.
June was busy but we seem to all have our best days when we are out and about...exploring and making memories as a family.
