Our raspberries continued well in to July. I found a raspberry muffin recipe from A Bountiful Kitchen that was delicious.
I also took Phin and Millie to the play Frozen at our local Children's theater. The girl that played Olaf was amazing.
One of the Young Women in our ward was raising funds for a camp and took orders for yummy fresh baked goods each week. We loved her brownies.
Phin also loved the piano downtown by the Art Center.
Millie started her summer dance classes.
We took many more trips to Lagoon.
We played in Carver's little kid pool at Nona and Papa's.
We went to the fireworks up at Eaglewood Golf Course on July 3rd with the Moore and Plaizier families.

The kids were so excited for it to finally get dark enough for glow sticks and then the fireworks.
The next morning we enjoyed more of our raspberries on pancakes.
The kids also kept cool in our backyard pool.
We went to Toy Story 4 as a family. The kids loved it.
We made some homemade raspberry ice cream.
We celebrated Nona's birthday.
We were lucky enough to have Carver over a few days to play. We turned our double stroller into a triple. Carver and Millie got very comfy in the back seat.
We walked over to free lunch at the park.
Carver was a much better eater than my kids.
We dressed up for Cow Appreciation Day and loved getting free Chick-Fil-A.
Most days in the summer I had the kids work on some academic skills. Here Millie is working on writing her name.
We also moved Phin from training wheels to a little handle on the back of the bike so that we can help him learn to balance.
We also hit up 7-11 for free Slurpee day.
We happened to run into some of our good friends there so we sat down on the curb and enjoyed our Slurpees together. I am happy to report that Silas is a fan of Pina Colada...which is my favorite Slurpee flavor.
They also got very creative with some toothpicks and stuck the toothpicks through some leaves to make some "food."
We also joined Jaime and Jotham's family for their annual Kid Day at Lagoon.
Phin and Gavin had a great time getting drenched in the water fountain.
We took an epic camping road trip in July...I will do several other posts with each stop in our road trip soon. The morning after we got back I ran the Handcart half marathon. My final time was 2:13:37,
We also attended Seth's 20-year High School Reunion.
We had Aaron sleepover for a couple of nights.
Phin and Aaron attended a Lego camp at our rec center together.
We rode Front-runner and the Trax down to the Float Preview Party at the Expo Center.
We waited in ridiculously long lines so the kids could get their faces painted.
We also waited for balloon toys.
Unfortunately Phin's balloon popped before we even made it back to the Trax Station...which made him quite sad...which made his face paint smear...sad day.
We went to cousin Eliza's birthday party.
We also made it out to the splash pad with Sarah, Joe, Kate, Harvey and Rachel.
I loved watching Silas play in the water.
It was fun to see cousins playing together.
We also made it out to Lagoon again.
This time I was brave enough to take the kids to Lagoon-A-Beach.
Silas LOVED the kids area...and didn't ever stop moving to explore it.
We also managed to spend some time on the lazy river.
Silas displayed his love of stairs.

Millie came out of her room one morning like this. It had to be 100 degrees outside but she wanted to play with her coats.
We also had a pretty awful accident in July. Seth and I participated in a DietBet with some of his co-workers. We both met our target of losing 4% of our body weight in 4 weeks. So to celebrate we decided to take the kids out for ice cream. We went to Artic Circle just a few blocks from our house. Phin was on his bike and Seth was helping him balance. I was pushing Silas in the stroller and Millie was on her balance bike. We almost got to Artic Circle and were just turning into the parking lot when Millie started down a hill. She doesn't have a lot of experience with hills and doesn't know how to stop. I was on the other side of Seth and panicked. I ended up running after Millie but let go of the stroller in my attempt to catch her. Millie ended up crashing...and then Silas ended up crashing. We were all really shaken up and stood by the side of the road trying to collect ourselves. Millie ended up with a fat lip. Silas ended up with a mark above his eye. Phin was super sad that both of his siblings got hurt and cried many tears of sympathy. We ended up continuing on to Artic Circle. Seth took Millie into the bathroom to wash her off and I ordered ice cream...although by then I had completely lost my appetite. As we were waiting in the play land for our ice cream someone else's kid threw up and it started to come all the way down the slide. So we moved out of the play land, our kids ate ice cream and then we headed home. I am grateful that Millie and Silas were not more seriously injured. We were definitely watched over by angels.
Millie's lip healed very quickly. Here are some shots from her in the days following the accident.
I am happy to report that Millie has gotten back on her bike since the accident. Her courage is an example to me of the quote "It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up." These
pictures also remind me to keep smiling through it all.
