10 YEARS

We celebrated our 10th anniversary  in July.  In the pre-covid world of January we had made grand plans for a 10 day cruise of the Mediterranean.  We were so excited to cruise out of Venice, Italy and visit Greece together.  Seth's mom graciously offered to still watch our kids when Corona wrecked havoc on our grand plans.  We took the opportunity to get away for a week.  We hadn't been away from our kids since our last cruise when Millie was 16-months old.  A couple trip was LONG overdue.

We dropped the kids off with Seth's parents after camping at Tony's Grove.  We spent a night in our own house before heading down to Bryce Canyon.  We spent one night at Ruby's Inn.  We had so much fun hiking together.  Our first hike wast he day we arrived and we hiked Queens Garden from Sunrise to Sunset Point.

We knew our kids would love seeing Thor's hammer.

The views down Wall Street were pretty spectacular.

The next morning we were up bright and early to hike Fairyland Loop.  Ruby's Inn had a grab and go breakfast that we very much appreciated.

We spotted a rattlesnake along the trail...after hearing him first.

We spent the next three nights at my parent's cabin in Escalante.  The cabin was so peaceful...without crazy kids running around.  Our first morning we were up early to hike Lower Calf Creek Falls.

When we were arrived there was just a photographer that was there.  It was beautiful...but the water was super cold so we didn't get in.

Our next hike was Upper Calf Creek Falls.

We spotted another snake along the trail.

Seth opted to slide down this waterfall.

I jumped...and it wasn't until I had already jumped that I realized how far down the water was.  It was super cold too.

Seth jumped a few more times too.

As we hiked we talked about how much Millie would have loved these rocks...they kind of looked like the Trolls from Frozen.

We also happened to run into Jane, Emily, Aaron, Collette and Spencer who were over from Teasdale for the day.

The next day we hiked Escalante Natural Bridge.

The sunflowers along the trail were gorgeous.

We also made it over to Corona Bridge.

We tried to find some pools in the river that Jeff had told us about but didn't have any luck.  We did happen to find this fun place to leave a handprint.

We took the side-by-side out in the afternoon.

The views up above the cabin were gorgeous.

We had lunch at Posey lake.

The next day we headed back home and spent a few days exploring around our own home.  We made it up to Aspen Grove.

The wildflowers up there were AMAZING.

Our kids had so much fun with Grandma Jo and Grandad and Aunt Jill and her family.  The weekend they were up there they went out on the kayaks and tubes.

Phin decided he likes kayaking almost as much as paddle-boarding.

The kids also loved playing dress-ups with their cousins.

Back at Grandma Jo's the kids did a giant floor puzzle.

Millie helped Grandma Jo shell peas.

The kids also did a sun-catcher art project with Grandma Jo.

To cap their week of fun they had a sleepover for cousin Eliza's birthday.  Eliza got a Frozen knitting set and Phin was so excited that he learned how to knit.
