March

Here is our March in reverse.  During Spring Break we went to our favorite ice cream shop...Blacksmith Ice Cream on Main Street.  We got the sampler plate which came with four scoops.

We also explored a recently updated park nearby.  The kids loved this spinning contraption.

Seth's friend Brady got us some Jazz suite tickets.  We were able to invite Seth's high school friends Matt and Chad along with their spouses (Tonnie and Angela) for a night of basketball and yummy food.

A Quick Quack Car Wash opened up nearby and we stopped by for the free wash day.  The kids loved giving the duck a high five.

These afternoon snuggles are become less frequent these days.  I will take all the snuggles I can get while they last.

Millie and Silas had Easter celebrations at school.  They had to find an egg of each color to put in their baskets.

We celebrated Silas' 3rd Birthday in March.  When he talked about his birthday he always referred to it as "my Spider-man Birthday" so we made sure to live up to that title.  We all ended up getting Spider-man PJ's to celebrate Silas.  He loved his Miles Morales PJ's and Millie fell in love with her Spider Gwen PJ's.

Since we had a Spider-man cake mold...I put it to good use for Silas' cake.

Silas got a Spider-man Lego set that Phin was more than willing to help Silas put together.  We picked out this set because it had a green truck and green is Silas' favorite color.  Silas knows every Spider-man villains and loved that this set came with Vulture.

We also got a couple of new tree swings for our front yard for Silas' birthday.

Silas also got decked out with some new gear...a new hat, shirt and Spider-man backpack.

I loved seeing this picture of Silas at school on his birthday.  He turns his hat backwards all by himself.  Here he is painting a bunny with chocolate pudding.

Millie and Phin were so excited for Silas' birthday.  They woke up super early so I took them to Dick's Market to pick up some birthday doughnuts.

One afternoon as we were sitting on the couch, Silas said he wanted to give me a massage.  He ran to the other room to get our little massage tool.

We also discovered courtesy cones at Artic Circle.  The kids love getting a little cone when I get some fries.

Here are a few more shots of Silas doing his thing at school.

Phin has been busy in his last semester of Let's Play Music.  He is becoming a pretty good pianist.

My heart bursts when I come across cute scenes like this...all three kiddos cuddled up on the couch to watch a show.

The kids loved learning about the Armor of God in March.

They also loved a quick Sacrament meeting visit from our Idaho cousins as they drove through town.

Amy, Zoey, Connor and Grace introduced us to a new park in March.  We actually went on a little hike up the hill above this park together.

Silas and Millie also explored a new park while Phin had a private music lesson.

Here Phin is showing off the straw making kit that he earned at music.

Millie and Silas have been learning about different cultures at school.  They brought some fun treats and loved tasting them.

They also made homemade tortillas at school.

Phin's class did a scavenger hunt on St. Patrick's Day.  When he came home he decided to set up a scavenger hunt for Millie and Silas.

They ran around outside and finally found the treasure...which was really Phin's treasure that he generously shared.

All of the kids love when our Pussy Willow tree starts to bloom.

Millie made a Leprechaun hat at school that she was excited to model.

We also celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a box of Lucky Charms.  Silas is a master of fishing out the marshmallows.

Silas will often climb up on Seth's lap and request "What's up Danger." which is the theme song from Spider-man into the Spider-verse.

Silas enjoyed catching some of the last snowflakes of the year on his tongue.

He requested that a cut a piece of green ribbon to tie around his finger.

He had fun trying on Millie's shoes one day.

We took advantage of a windy Saturday to fly kites at the park.

We also set the trampoline up for the season.  The kids had been asking for months about the trampoline.

The Primary Presidency dropped off a Crumbl cookie to celebrate Silas' March birthday.  He was kind enough to share with some very eager siblings.

The Young Women's Presidency that I have served in for the last 4+ years was released.  The sweet President dropped off these beautiful flowers for me.

Silas loves to be up by me when I am cooking.  He requested the Popsicle holders this time and then proceeded to match all the colors.

February

Here is another month in reverse post.  We ended February celebrating Seth's birthday.  Phin made this Lego Happy sign for Seth.  We had yummy steaks for our Sunday dinner.  We also took the kids to IHOP on Saturday to celebrate. The loved that they could pick whatever food they wanted for dinner.  Phin chose chicken and waffles, Millie had a cupcake pancake and Silas got macaroni and cheese...a pretty good representation of my cute kiddos.  Phin even mentioned the "fancy" restaurant in his prayers that night.

One of my favorite things is watching my kids play together.  Millie tends to speak to Silas in a special voice when they are playing together.  He is pretty good to go along with all of her schemes.

Silas tends to find me when I am curled up on the couch under a blanket.  He always climbs up and says "I want in."

When Phin was at his music class one Thursday night, I drove up and sat outside the Bountiful temple.  I caught this sunset just as I pulled up.  As I sat in and sought peace and comfort, I couldn't help but ponder about the beauty of the sunset.  I crave the beautiful sunsets in life...but they don't come unless we go through the darkness of night.

Phin begged me to buy some Cheez-It crackers.  I bought some one day when he was at school...and he was so excited when he got home.

I love getting photo updates of Silas' day at school.  Here he is eating a dirt cup.

Our Thursday afternoon park visits have continued.  We were surprised by how much snow this park still had.

Silas is our most adventurous eater.  Here he is enjoying some chips and salsa.  It took me a minute to figure out he was asking for salsa...and he was so excited when I finally figured it out.

Flower match up at school.  Silas is in the middle portion of the picture waiting for his turn to match the photos.

The administration at my school is the best.  For my birthday this year they hand delivered my favorite Frozen Custard.

I found a great deal on a MEL Science kit for Phin.  He put together a lift and learned all about hydraulics.

Some days we stay in our pajamas all day...I think it is happening more frequently due to the pandemic.

One day Millie sat up to the table and patiently put all the beads on her Cinderella necklace.

My college roommate, Nel, sent me a beautiful popup birthday card...and the kids LOVE it.

Silas even does science experiments at school.  One day the teachers showed them what happens when you put a Mento in a bottle of Coke.

We had a little more snow in February and the kids LOVED playing in it.

Silas playing in shaving cream at school.

I got this picture of Millie with a baby at recess...I wasn't sure if she was burying the baby in the snow or not.  She told me she was putting the baby down the front of her snow bibs to keep it warm.

Valentine's Day was a huge hit at school.  The kids did art projects and decorated sugar cookies.

Millie loved all of her Valentine's Day loot.

Silas' face in this picture cracks me up.

Millie meditating...

Millie's Valentine's Day hairdo.

Phin loved Valentine's day too.  We recycled his box from last year...and will be keeping it for next year too.

We had dinner with my parents for the first time in months.  We also had marzipan cake to celebrate our birthdays.  I am so incredibly grateful that we were able to celebrate together.  Thank you for the lovely birthday dinner Mom!

My best friend, Amy, dropped off my favorite treat for my birthday.  If you haven't tried Nothing Bundt Cakes...you are missing out.

We set the goal with Phin to read the Book of Mormon before his birthday.  Every night after dinner Seth or I sits down to read with Phin.  I think this picture is a good summary of the experience.  I am so proud of Phin for sticking to it and working hard.  He is earning Lego mini-figs for each book we finish.  He is just trying to figure out why some of the books are so much longer than others.

The kids loved putting together their Valentine's Day treats.  Phin did Star Wars Light Sabers with Pixie Stix again.  Millie and Silas gave away Gummi pizzas.

Silas' favorite color is green...you can tell by the marker all over this shirt.

The kids loved visiting Nona one day and reading books with her.

Silas' nursery leaders stopped by with a Valentine's day treat and let him pet their brand new puppy...he was in love.

Millie and Silas got a turn at Blacksmith Ice Cream in February too.

Silas loves to bake with me.  He uses the cupboards and steps to climb up on the counter and help out.  He will often say "I want to make with you."  In this photo he had turned on the mixer to the fastest setting...flour went everywhere.  Even with all the mess...I love my little baking buddy.
