4 MONTHS

Lou hit the 4 month mark on Presidents Day.  It took a few weeks for us to get in for her well-check visit.  So a couple of weeks after the 4 month mark she weighed 15 lbs 6 oz (63rd percentile) and was 26 inches tall (86th percentile).   She wore size 1 diapers all month and moved up to 6 month clothes.

 Here are her weekly pictures for the month.  When she really smiles it looks like she is winking.

I pulled out the jumper for her one Saturday and she was a huge fan.  She insists on being upright most of the time.  She wants to see what is going on around her.  She also prefers to be held by me...so my arms are getting quite a workout.

People often ask me who Lou looks like and she is pretty much Millie's twin...they are just six years apart.  Here is another photo of Lou in a beautiful white knit dress...

We also pulled out the Bumbo chair this month.  The kids were fascinated with this chair and begged for me to keep putting Lou in it so she could sit up.

 

Lou used to love to be in the bouncer while I cooked...now she prefers to be in my arms or in the Baby Bjorn. 

Here Lou is in her classroom at Childcare.  She has such a patient and kind group of women looking after her. 

One day I left the room for a second and when I came back, Lou looked like this...an older sibling had experimented with markers. Poor Lou.

Phin and Millie are always begging to hold Lou.

 

 

Lou loves to have people talk to her and smiles at others so quickly.

She is quite slobbery and can blow some pretty good bubbles.

 She loves her binky and loves to be wrapped up tightly when she goes to sleep.

FEBRUARY

We started the month out at Hamilton.  Seth's work treated us to tickets as part of their company party.   The cast had a COVID outbreak in January when we were originally scheduled to go, so the show was rescheduled for February 1st.  This was my first time at the Eccles.

The theater was absolutely gorgeous.  It was fun to sit close to many of Seth's co-workers.

 

The show was AMAZING!  I found Andrew Burr quite a bit more sympathetic of a character in this production vs. the Disney+ version.  My favorite quote from him was "Talk Less, Smile more, Don't let them know what you're against or what you're for."  This resonated with me with the current social media climate. I miss the days were people just posted cute photos of their kids and fun updates about their lives. 

 

Silas fond some bubble wrap from a package one day.  Here he is eating a granola bar, watching a show, and popping bubble wrap.  

 

 

We enjoyed quite a few warm days in February.   We walked to the park one Saturday and the kids had the best time playing while Seth and I pushed Lou around the outside of the playground.

My birthday is in February and my work absolutely spoils me each year with a Nielsen's Frozen Custard...this time I got the Coconut Cashew and it was so yummy.

 

For Come Follow Me when we were talking about Noah and the Ark we got a bag of animal crackers and then organized all the animals two by two.  The kids loved this yummy activity.

 

I found this alphabet chart and pulled it out so Millie could "play" school with Silas. 

 

Millie had an assignment to bring 100 objects that she could count to school.  I had some animals in my classroom and she and Silas had fun playing with them and sorting them into colors/animals.

 

Papa and Nona came over so that Papa and I could celebrate our birthday together.  We ordered food from our favorite Greek place via Doordash.  Then we had cake and ice cream.

 

Millie had her 100th day of school.  She did not want to dress up like an old person.

Phin set a goal at the beginning of the year to run with me.  We ran a Sweethearts 5K together in February.  It was his first 5K and he was so proud to cross the finish line.

Here is a cute photo of Silas from this month.  Silas delights in the simple things of life and I am trying to be a little bit more like him in this regard.

Seth and I were able to get to the temple for an endowment session this month.  It was so delightful to be back in the temple with my favorite person.

 

The kids had a great Valentine's Day.  They came home loaded up with lots of treats and loved sorting though the candy and cards they received from friends.

 

Silas' teachers gave him a heart shaped box of candy and he thought it was the best thing ever.

 

It was warm enough that we could go for a comfortable walk at lunch one day with Seth.  Lou enjoyed the Baby Bjorn and being able to see everything on the walk.

 

It has been delightful to go to parks after we pick up Phin from school.

I have been trying to take the kids on more Friday adventures.  On this particular Friday we went Discovery Gateway.

 

This photo just melts my heart...I am so lucky to have these four.

I got a foam roller for my birthday and Millie and Silas loved playing in the box it came in.  Here they are in their "canoe."

We wanted to take advantage of Free Fare February so on Presidents Day we rode the Front-runner downtown. Doesn't Lou look adorable poking through Seth's jacket?

 

 

We all took scooters and scooted around once we arrived.

 

We did a little progressive dinner.  We had chips and queso at Costa Vida.  Then we rode scooters around the Delta Center Vivint Arena.

We hoped on Trax and rode down to City Creek.

The kids played at the little playground and we had bread-sticks and fries.

 

Then we rode Trax and Frontrunner back to our car.

The kids were delighted to try out some cocoa bombs on a cold day.

Silas made this "alien ship" at school.  It had some blocks with snaps on each side that he had to match up.  He has had the best time playing with these 5 blocks.

We had a taste test one Friday night.  We picked up a couple of boxes of cookies at Traders Joe and then Seth suprised us by bringing a plate full of cookies home from work.  The oatmeal chocolate chip was my favorite...followed by the new Trader Joe's cookie butter cookie.

To finish out the month we celebrated Seth's birthday.  We had bagels for breakfast.  He was indecisive about what he wanted to do for dinner...so I made his favorite Beef Stew and we had an ice cream pie for dessert.
