SUZ

I heard several people refer to May as Maycember this year. We definitely had a jam-packed month. Although May was crazy busy, it was beautiful to celebrate all of the growth that has happened this year. The kids got out of school the Thursday before Memorial Day, so we had the last week of May to play. We met up with my BFF and her kids at Tracy Aviary. The bird show as a big hit for most of the kids...Lou on the other hand was not a huge fan. Amy was sweet enough to share a picture of the kids.

Phin was chosen as a volunteer and loved letting this bird perch on him.

The flamingos are always a favorite.

Lou enjoyed being able to sleep in a little longer once school was out. I found her with her head under her pillow one morning.

We loved our first visit to the outdoor pool at the Rec Center.

We also spent lots of time playing in our own yard.

Our ward had a playgroup at the local splash pad and the kids had so much fun running around and playing with so many of their neighborhood friends.

Cousin Spencer was baptized and Millie loved having a little private terrace with her cousin Millie for dinner.

Millie learned to ride her bike. She is my most cautious child and has been very hesitant to ride her bike. When we brought her bike out at the beginning of the season, I took the training wheels off. This particular day she just took off and never looked back.

We got the pizza oven out fro the first pizza of the season on Memorial Day.

The kids had so much fun with cousins at Lagoon on Memorial Day. This was Silas' first time on the old rollercoaster.

Lou loved Bulgy while the older kids rode the Bat.

Seth set up quite the tea party for the kids one Sunday afternoon.

We celebrated the last day of school with ice cream. Phin also sang a little twist on R.E.M's End of the World (It's the end of the school year as we know it).

Next year will bring quite a bit of change to our school. Mr. Richardson our favorite principal is opening up a new Elementary school. Mr. Richardson has been amazing as a boss and as a principal to my kiddos. He has absolutely made their elementary experience magical.

I was able to snap a picture of the kids with their teachers on the last day of school. Miss Nelson has always been one of my favorite teachers to work with and I am so happy Phin was able to be in her class.

Mrs. Anderson was the perfect teacher for Millie this year.

Mrs. Handy made Kindergarten such a fun and exciting experience for Silas. He hung on every word she said and would often recite facts back to us. We often heard "Mrs. Handy says ____" around the dinner table. She told him she was 106 years old...and he believes her.

I was able to throw a Shaved Ice Party for each of the kid's classes the last week of school. Lou was my little helper and loved being greeted by each of her siblings.

I also was able to peek out during FIELD DAY to see Millie trying to dunk Mr. Richardson on the dunk tank.

Lou's school ended a week before the other kids. Lou was lucky enough to go and hang out with Nona and Papa that final week. Here are few photos Nona sent me.

Grandma Jo threw a tea party in May.

Millie was able to try on her Aunts wedding dresses/veils, Grandma Jo's dress and her Great Grandmother Beverly's wedding dress.

Our stake had another Neighborhood activity. We enjoyed hot dogs, pot luck, Nine Square and inflatable bumper balls.

We spent one final evening at Cross E Ranch.

Lou had such a good school year. I loved seeing her say goodbye to all of her friends when I would pick her up each afternoon. Here she is with her bestie Leni.

Lou loved school so much that she was less than thrilled for the last day of school.

We went to a little graduation ceremony for the kids that were graduating from Lou's school. Silas wanted a picture by the V.

The last few days of school they had fun activities like Movie Day.

Water day...

Silas didn't have school for three days while his teacher did KEEP end of year testing. He spent the mornings with Nona and Papa and then Lou and I got to hang out with him in the afternoon.

A Mother's Day miracle happened with all four kids looking and smiling at the camera.

Cross E doughnuts are our favorite.

Millie had a Wax Museum. She was Beatrix Potter. It was so fun to hear her share all the details she had learned about this literary icon.

Phin had his end of year recital. His teacher Miss Natalie is retiring from teaching private students. She can trace her piano pedigree all the way back to Franz Joseph Haydn and Ludwig Van Beethoven, which means Phin now shares that pedigree as well. He played the Beatles "Yellow Submarine" for the recital.

I was a chaperone for Silas' field trip to the local grocery store.

Lou was voted "Most Likely to be a Librarian" by the high school students that work in her classroom. This little girl loves books and can often be found on Silas' bed reading away.

She also knows how to enjoy a cookie.

Millie had her last recital for the year as well. She finished her 3rd year of the Let's Play Music program and will be continuing with BRIDGES in the fall. She played her own composition "I love Reece's at her recital.

Silas also had his recital for the end of his 1st year of Let's Play Music. He was an absolute hoot to watch perform. He was definitely the most animated student.
