16 MONTHS

Lou hit 16 months in February.  Her hair is growing so fast and she finally has enough for a decent pigtail up on top.

This little one thinks that she is just as big as the other kids.  She insisted on sitting on this bar stool while the other kids bowled.  She is still wearing size 18-24 month clothes, size 4 diapers and is just about grown out of size 4 shoes.

She often says "cheese" when I pull out my camera phone.  She worked hard on some teeth this month.  Her top two popped through and two more top teeth are so close to poking through.

She continues to love fruit (oranges, bananas, blueberries, apples, etc.).  She also loves cheese and my sourdough cinnamon swirl bread.

She is a climber and often finds "reasons" to climb up on the kitchen table.

She also knows what to do with pens, crayons, markers, etc.

She has figured out how to drink out of a straw and LOVES my water bottle.

She hates to just be put in her bed and prefers to fall asleep in our arms.

She was delighted when Nona saved her from the dreaded high chair when we went out to eat.

Here she is using a cup as a "chair."

She loves to play peek-a-boo.

She also loves to climb up into our rocking chair.

She is a HUGE fan of the water table at school.  The school has some "nicknames" posted for the kids.  Lou is "The escape artist" and the "Shoe stealer."  Lou can often be found carrying around shoes that have been left on the ground.  She also says "sh" for shoes.

February

Here is our February in reverse.  Phin had a piano recital.  Phin memorized two pieces for an upcoming Federation competition.

Seth and Phin in matching ties.

Pine Wood Derby preparations were in full swing this month.  Thank goodness for Seth.  He made the kids visions come to life.

We celebrated Seth's birthday the Sunday before the big day with steak, mashed potatoes, sourdough rolls and a yummy chocolate cake.

Millie got another Little Passports package in the mail.  We made empanadas and she put together this little Foosball set.

We had a massive snowstorm and the kids spent a Friday afternoon out playing in the snow.

They even built hot chocolate holders into their fort.

Lou loved being pulled in our little baby sled.

We had a Pine Wood derby work night and the kids didn't mind cleaning up with this vacuum backpack.

Grandma Jo and Grandad treated us to a trip to Pizza Pie Cafe and bowling on President's Day.

My sourdough obsession continues...here is some focacchia bread that I tried out this month.

Valentine's Day was a big hit.  Millie had cute heart hair for the occasion.

Phin made a Mario Brothers question box.

Lou got a heart balloon and Silas came home with a box full of candy.

Millie was easy peasy on me this year and was content with a store bought unicorn box.

A heart loaf.

Marzipan to celebrate our birthday.

We had dinner at Ti Amo Pizzeria and the kids were delighted with their own kid sized pizzas.

I went into Touche a local boutique to pick up a cookbook for my birthday.  The owner was so sweet.  When she found out it was my birthday she insisted I take some candy.

My new cookbook is beautiful.  I have followed Si on her website.  Her french bread and Instant Pot Beef Stew are staples in our house.

Silas has a favorite book series...not pictured Creepy Carrots.  He could listen to these books everyday.

Birthday doughnuts...this time Banbury Cross...yum.

I took the kids to an Family Art Night and they made picture frames out of random objects.

"Look Mom, I'm Iron Man."  The Oreo was Iron' Man's palm button.

A new cookie joint opened up in our neighborhood.  We went in for the free cookie day.

We explored a new library.  Millie and Silas loved the kitchen area.

We also got to see the weiner mobile.

Millie is LOVING activity days.  One day they learned all about Chinese New Year.

Silas with his new "tongue" aka Fruit by the foot.
