SEPTEMBER

We started and ended September at Lagoon.  Here is our September in reverse.  I took the three youngest kids to Frightmares while Seth and Phin were at a camp-out.  The weather was perfect and it was so fun to see all of the lights at Lagoon.

We have also been using our Season passes to Cross E ranch.  The kids LOVE the corn pit.  They could spend hours there.  Lou is a little more cautious about the corn pit and maxes out after about 10 minutes.  So we wandered around to see the rabbits, goats and take some photos while they kept playing.

I had a crazy idea for Silas' Halloween costume. Here is the start of it...he is going to be BB8 from Star Wars.  I covered a yoga ball with paper mache and then some white duct tape.  Silas is so excited...and also thinking of how he can wear this costume for future years.  My favorite...he said "I can be a bowling ball and you can all be the pins."

Millie turned 9.  She has been wanting to have a cake at Nona with cousin's so we did.  She chose Cake by Courtney's Chai White Chocolate Raspberry cake.  It was basically a spice cake.  The Chai and then the Raspberries were a perfect marriage between autumn flavors and the sweetness of summer raspberries.

On Millie's actual birthday she had a Harry Potter themed birthday party.  She invited her school bestie and her two closest cousins to party with her.

For the party we had Cake by Courtney's vanilla cupcakes with Strawberry buttercream.  I didn't blend the freeze dried strawberries up quite enough...so the buttercream piping was a little crazy.

The girls had a potions class and played with shaving cream, bubbles, vinegar and baking soda.

We also made some chocolate frogs.  I just had white chocolate on hand so we ended up making cookies and cream frogs.

The girls also made some wands.

Here are some pictures from our first trip to Cross E ranch...this is serious my happy place in the Fall.

I found a great deal at Savers on a magnet building set.  I knew our master builder (Silas) would find hours of entertainment with this set.  I am amazed at this guy's creativity.

Fall is in the air.  Lou and I loved seeing all the pumpkins at the grocery store.

Seth was called to be the 2nd Counselor in our new bishopric.  We are excited for him to serve the members of our ward.

Here is a sneak peek of Lou's costume.  She is going to be an EWOK.  This is actually the monkey costume that my Mom made for JB 47+ years ago.

We have continued to love our Blackstone.  Here we are with our first round of Philly Cheese-steaks

.

I donated blood again in September.  I used to be on the restricted list since I traveled to the UK in 2007.  Since the restrictions have been lifted, I have felt called to donate blood regularly.  Lou doesn't seem to mind waiting with me...especially since I give her all my snacks.

My school district had their annual fun run through Lagoon.  I forgot to take any pictures as we ran through Lagoon and played games on the Midway.  But here are a few from the bubble pit before the run.

Phin has been loving being a little Sous Chef when Seth is cooking on the Blackstone.

I made two other cakes this month too.  I found out our custodian loves Gingersnap cookies.  Her birthday was in September and I felt very prompted to make her a cake.  I knew the cake that I made for Seth's birthday would be perfect. Sadly I forgot to take a picture.  I also made a Twix cake for my best friend Amy's birthday in September.

We spent Labor Day at Lagoon.  The kids had so much fun riding rides with their cousins.

I also got to ride my favorite childhood ride with Silas...this is also currently his favorite ride.
