A bit of August

We slowed down a bit in August...the realization that school was starting soon hit us pretty hard.  We spent one morning at the Children's Museum.  We love their little craft classes.  Phin and Millie are artistic...and I don't love the mess that comes with being artistic...so this is the perfect solution.

The new Water Play area opened in July and the kids LOVE it.  They spend so much time playing here and the exhibit is so interactive.

Aaron and Spencer came over one Friday to play.  Aaron (Spiderman) and Phin (Darth Vader) played hard all day long.

We hit up A&W for Root Beer Float day...and were disappointed our local joint closed.  So we drove all the way into Salt Lake for this freebie.

Phin completed another round of swimming lessons.  He is becoming more confident and finally made it to the deep end of the pool in this session.

One Friday evening we took a long walk down to the Bun Basket for dinner and then took our dinner over to Firefighter Park.

Millie's favorite part of dinner...dessert.

After dinner we played with our remote controlled cars on the tennis courts.

On our walk home we found this piano outside of the Art Center.

We also spent lots of time hanging out with cousin Carver.

My dear friend Holly was in town for a wedding and was able to stop by to visit and to meet Silas.

We celebrated August 31st by getting a $1.50 scoop of ice cream at Baskin Robbins.  We also used our Chick-Fil-A calendar cards to get a Large French Fry and Large drink...we called it dinner.

We are  ahead of the game and have started to prep Halloween costumes.  Millie is going to be Tinkerbelle, Phin is going to be Captain Hook, Silas will be Crocky, Seth will be Peter Pan and I will be Wendy.

Wow, that's a cute Captain Hook and a lovely Tink! Your comment about not liking the mess that comes with creativity resonnates with me! The preschool we chose for Carter focused on art, science, and something else that tended toward messy fun (too many years ago to remember now!) for that exact reason. Love it!
