Phin turned 2 months last weekend. It doesn't seem fair that the time Phin was in my belly went by so slowly and now the days are just flying by. Phin just had his 2 month checkup and he weighs 13 pounds 6 ounces and is 24.25 inches long. That puts him in the 85th percentile for weight and the 87th percentile for height. He is now wearing size 2 diapers and size 0-3 month clothing but is starting to wear many of his 3-6 month outfits. One of his nicknames from this month is JABA...because this kid is seriously packing on the pounds.
The picture below gives you a better idea of just how much our little guy has grown. He has almost doubled his birth weight. Don't you love the milk belly in the second picture!
The transition to parenthood has not been nearly as hard as people said it would be...we give most of the credit for this to Phin. He is very easy going and has a sweet temperament. He doesn't get very fussy in fact we have nicknamed Phin's fussiness as PHINEUSINESS...which is a very decreased level of fussiness when compared to others. For the most part we just cart Phin around to all the places we want to go and he is a pretty good sport about going. We also involve him in our interests...here is Phin "playing" cars with Seth.
At six weeks we moved Phin into his own room...by own room I mean into our computer/TV room...we like to think of it as teaching him to share early on in life. He has been an excellent sleeper since moving into his own space. He consistently sleeps around 6 hours which means we are down to one feeding at night...and at 8 weeks he slept one night for 8 hours...woohoo. We also gave him his first bottle at 6 weeks...he took it like a champ.
He is becoming more expressive. This is definitely my favorite photo from this month.
He is learning how to smile...and in this picture it looks a little like he is trying to wink.
He still can nap anywhere...here he is taking a nap with Diesel and Jeff.
He gives some pretty big yawns when he is tired.
He met his cousins Mark, Hannah, Hollie and Gavin this month as well as his Aunt Jamie. They came down a day early for his blessing. We went to a few garage sales and they were sweet enough to let Phin ride in their van while Seth and I rode the scooter.
Phin loves to be on his belly...most meals he can be found lying over our knees. We usually put a napkin over his back so we don't spill on him.
Phin's uncle Matt and aunt Emily bought him this Spiderman onesie...before Seth and I had even met. They misplaced it in their move last fall and just found it recently. We think it is awfully cute on our little guy.
Phin loves to be swaddled when he sleeps. We have loved his Swaddle Me blankets...they keep him wrapped up like a little burrito. When he wakes up I go in to unwrap him and he immediately stretches his arms up by his head and arches his back...I didn't realize until Seth pointed it out that I do the exact same thing when I wake up.
Phin likes bath time...although it takes a few minutes for him to warm up to the idea. Sometimes he showers with us, sometimes he sits in his infant bath but most of the time we just put him right in the kitchen sink.

Many have asked if Phin has red hair...the answer is yes he does. We think his red hair comes from my
Nana. We think it is pretty sweet....we also think this little guy is pretty sweet. What did we ever do before he came along?
