Museum Outings

January's weather was awful...and we felt a little cooped up at home so we went to he Children's Museum a couple of days in January.  The kids loved getting out and being able to play.

I love seeing Millie playing right along with Phin.  She loved the grocery area.

They also loved the iPad apps in the farming section of the museum.  I found out that the app is Dr. Panda's garden...we may have to make a purchase.

One day we happened to catch a parachute class.  Phin loved the parachute...Millie not so much.

My two little cooks at work.

Super Readers

January brought many changes for our little family.  I was called as the 2nd Counselor in the Young Women's in our ward just before we left on our cruise.  When we got back I jumped right into my calling and found out that we had a planning retreat on Saturday, January 28th.  I was a little bummed because the kids had earned admission to the KUED Super Reader party by reading books for 20 minutes everyday in November.  Seth was an absolute sweetheart and took the kids to the party.  Phin steered clear of all the characters...Millie apparently wished she could have steered clear of Elmo as well.

They apparently loved the hats they were able to make.

They also enjoyed the snack table.

Phin was able to build with gumdrops and toothpicks.

They also watched a magic show...Phin was probably saying Booyah in this picture...he learned that word from the magician.

It was sad to miss this fun day with the kids...but I think they had a fabulous time with Seth.

Snow Storm

We had a HUGE snowstorm in January.  It was CRAZY.  It also happened to be the same day as Cousin Andrew's Star Wars Belated Birthday Party...so I used my Jedi driving skills and drove Phin over to Andrew's church building for his Jedi Training.  Phin loved running around with his cousins and playing Star Wars.

He was pretty happy that his favorite food was served as well.

Once we got home we spent the rest of the day around our house.  The kids loved playing out in the snow with Seth.

I pulled out our Snowman kit and the kids loved adding eyes, a carrot nose, corn pipe and buttons to our Snowman.

We had so much snow at the sides of our driveway that we decided to make a little sledding hill.

Aunt Beth came over to play in the snow with us and brought her Olaf Snowman making kit.

Phin the King of the Hill.

Someone decided they liked the way the snow tasted.  She is my little ice girl and loves to chew on ice too.

New WORK House

My parents bought a new rental property in January.  We spent a few days over there helping them get one of the units ready to rent.  Phin and Millie loved running around and playing while the grown-ups worked...they especially loved that there were cousins to play with.  This spot in the closet was  favorite with the carpeted stairs that lead to no where.

Phin was also fascinated with the ShopVac.  He was so enthusiastic about helping that he started to vacuum Nona's hair.

She was a pretty good sport about it.

We helped Nona and Papa late one Friday night.  I brought pajamas for the kids and they ended up falling asleep at Nona and Papa's.  We were waiting for Seth to fly back in from a day trip to Denver.  I fell asleep too...but it was worth being up late to have Seth come back the same day.
