We found a Build-a-Robot kit at the thrift store one day and it kept the kids busy for hours.
Beth organized an escape room date night for us. We had fun trying to get out of this pirate themed room...we would have never made it without some very generous clues from the host.
Sarah was in town at the beginning of February as her family made there way back from Disneyland. Kate was practicing her Let's Play Music assignments and Phin had the best time singing along as she played the piano.
We got a HUGE store one day. All of this snow magically appeared overnight. School was put on a two hour delay.
We had parent teacher conferences for Phin. His reading has improved so much this year. His artwork is my absolute favorite. He loved learning all about Penguins in January.
We were so excited that Toy Story 4 finally made it to Disney+. I loved watching Millie dress up in her Bo Peep costume and change her cape into a skirt as Bo Peep changed in the movie.
My birthday fell on a Sunday this year...so we celebrated all weekend. On Saturday we picked up lunch from our favorite taco cart.
We enjoyed a yummy picnic lunch at the park. We brought some frozen corn along to feed to the ducks/geese after.
It had been so cold earlier in the week that the pond at the park had frozen over and was starting to thaw out. As soon as we started feeding the ducks they called out to their friends to come and join them. A huge group started to waddle our way. We watched as some of them fell through the ice. They very calmly wiggled their way back out and proceeded on their way. Sometimes I feel like a duck falling through the ice...although I am no so sure that I calmly go about my business.
We also kept our tradition of going to Ti Amo Pizzeria for our Birthday dinner.
The older I get the more I think that I look like my Dad.
We came back to our place after for our favorite Marzipan cake.
The kids totally spoiled me on my birthday. Phin made me a birthday crown. They made sure I got a birthday nap too.
We went to a Jr. performance of Aladdin in February. Phin begged to get a picture with Jafar after the show.
We went because a former co-worker's son was starting as Aladdin. Xander did such a great job.
This was our first time at this particular theater but we will definitely be back.
The kids had so much fun at their Valentine's parties. Millie and Silas both came home with a huge bag of Valentines.
Phin came home with the most adorable Penguin bag...which was filled to the brim with treats.
We spent President's Day weekend down at Nona and Papa's cabin. We invited Seth's cousin Cody down with us. We had so much fun with Sherise, Max, Sam, Cameron and Autumn.
Seth was an absolute genius and brought his video games and controllers. The boys had so much fun playing together. It also kept them busy so we could spend time playing games with Cody and Sherise.
On Saturday we headed to Devil's Garden.
We had a car full of food and clothes so we didn't take our big pack. Silas was a great sport in our smaller pack.
The kids had so much fun running around and playing on the rock formations.
The scenery was absolutely gorgeous.
Seth was a genius again and had packed our laser tag guns for the kids.
We continued down Hole in the Rock road and after lunch in the parking lot we headed down to a slot canyon.
The kids were all good sports and we finally made it down to the slots.
By this time Silas had managed to fall asleep.
Once he woke up I let him out of the pack. He loved exploring the canyon.
The next day we hiked to the 100 hands hieroglyph panal.

Our last day we to Kodachrome Basin State Park.
We decided to hike Angel's Place Loop.
The views from the top of this hike were gorgeous.
We also planned to hike to Shakespeare Arch...but found out it had fallen years ago. We enjoyed the muddy hike in spite of the lack of an arch.
We made it as far as the Sentinal before turning back.
We stopped for some yummy BBQ in Tropic. The brisket was soooo good. The kids also loved coloring on the walls of the restaurant.
We decided it would be appropriate to leave our family theme on the wall. This weekend was absolute perfection and has us so excited for Spring.
Millie would be content to have paper and scissors with her at all times. She was so excited when her Highlights magazine had a whole cutting activity.
One Saturday afternoon Seth took Millie and Silas to run some errands and Phin stuck around with me. We rode scooters around the neighborhood to deliver some things to some neighbors. I am usually pushing the stroller...so Phin wasn't sure I knew how to ride a scooter. He was super cute and gave me all sorts of instructions.

Phin also had a birthday for a classmate this month. He was so excited to go to the pool with friends.
Phin also finally conquered his fear and learned how to ride his bike. We bought this smaller bike near the end of summer at the thrift store and a smaller bike was just what he needed. It has been so fun to watch his confidence grow. BRING ON SUMMER!
Papa retired at the end of February. We went out on his last Thursday to take him his favorite candy bar and to get one last picture in his office.
We have enjoyed spending time in the afternoon outdoors. Phin and Millie have been playing with the fairies and gnomes from our fairy garden.
On leap day we headed out to Antelope Island for the day with Tawnya and Jami's family.
It was nice because there were no bugs out there...yet.
This birdhouse outside Visitor's Center was one of our favorite things.
We enjoyed our short hike to Landyfinger Point.
We also liked the steep hike up to Buffalo Point.
We also hiked part of the way up the Dooly Knob trail before deciding the kids were done. Can you spot Phin climbing on the rocks in this photo.
We capped of our visit by letting the kids play with remote controlled cars in a dirt parking lot while the adults chatted.
