10 MONTHS

Our little guy is now 10 months old.  I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around the idea that in two short months he will be year old.  We have started to think about ideas for a birthday party and will keep you all posted.

Phin now weighs about 24 pounds and is a little over 30 inches tall.  He is wearing size 12-18 month clothing and size 4 diapers.  He got his first tooth at the beginning of March and is working pretty hard on getting a few more.  He has perfected the army crawl this month and gets wherever he wants to go with great effort.

His nickname this month was PUPPY DOG because he follows me around just like a puppy dog, he licks me, he likes to go on walks, he begs for food and he can typically be found right under my feet.

He is starting to push up on his knees but doesn't crawl that way.

Phin tends to back himself up frequently and sometimes ends up right under furniture.

He loves to stand up and throws quite the fit when he falls over or when I set him down to get things down around the house.

When he first started standing he hadn't quite figured out how to move his feet and ended up in quite a few straddles.  He is starting to pull himself up...he did it once at Nona's house and freaked out when he was up because he didn't know how he managed it and didn't know how he would manage getting back down.

He loves his Daddy and continues to look at him with a great admiration.  On nice days we go outside and wait for Seth to get home and Phin flaps his arms and smiles when Seth finally arrives.

We have several boxes of toys but Phin would prefer to play with household objects...like drawer pulls...

door stops, kitchen magnets, fly swatters...

the vacuum...

cardboard boxes...

and electrical cords.

Sometimes we talk him into playing with real toys.

He has started to master solid foods...although almost every feeding starts with a face like this.  Mangoes continue to be his favorite food with pears and applesauce coming in close behind.

He had his first sucker this month after we walked to the bank and he was a big fan. (He also got his first official pair of Converse sneakers...I found them at the DI for a couple of bucks and couldn't resist.)

He also tried a rice puff at Aunt Beth's and was a big fan.

He may have had an allergic reaction to peanuts and then to pecans this month.  Can you see the red hives around his lips in the picture below?  It is a sad thing to think that he may not have any PB&J's in his future.

He continues to love bath time.

Count Boogie Dracula made his first appearance this past month.

Phin also had his first haircut this month.

I had given Seth a haircut just before and convinced him to keep a mustache just for the night. I love these two handsome guys.

Phin also enjoyed quite a bit of cousin time this month.  He and James can often be found playing on the carpet together on Sunday afternoons.

Kate came down from Idaho for a visit so our three summer babies spent some time together.

We took Phin over to the park for his first ride on the swings...he wasn't sure about swings initially...

but he eventually warmed up.

We took Phin to a Gymnastic meet at the University of Utah and he loved the cheering, music, lights and people watching.

Phin has been a pretty good sleeper this month.  He usually sleeps on his tummy but sometimes I find him on his back with his arms stretched out like he is saying "I surrender."

We sure love this little guy and can't imagine life without him.  We often wish that time would slow down a little bit so we could really savor each stage that Phin is in but at the same time we can't wait to see what the next month brings.

Time is going so fast. We were pregnant for-EV-er, and now he's traveling all over the house when I see him.
