1st Birthday Party

We celebrated Phin's birthday with his cousin James' birthday on Saturday, June 7th.  The day before we were busy preparing for the big party.  While we were out and about running errands Phin got a free balloon...it entertained him for quite some time.

Phin got to lick the beaters after I mixed up his cake.  At first he was just pounding the beaters on his booster tray...then he figured out that they were covered in chocolaty goodness.

The party was held at our favorite local park.  We feasted on smoked pulled pork and brisket, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, chips and a fruit salad...it was supposed to be fruit shish kabobs flower arrangement...but they were looking quite droopy so we improvised.  We also enjoyed some home-made root beer.  My Great Aunt Clara was known for her root beer...unfortunately this was not her recipe as I didn't have time to gather dandelions.

After feasting we stripped the boys down and put them side by side for their smash cakes.  I love that James is holding Phin's hand in the picture below.

Then it was go time...

Phin was a little hesitant at first but eventually dug right in.

We are so lucky to have this little guy in our lives.

We had quite a few members of Seth's side of the family attend the party.

And quite a few from my side of the family as well.

After cleaning the kiddos up we headed over to the Rec center to swim. Thank you for sharing the party with us James!  We look forward to many more celebrations for these two cute boys.

Nothing cuter than some nekked, squishy babies digging into birthday cake! Wish we lived closer so we could celebrate with you.
