Silas was sick the first weekend in September and we didn't want to spread his germs so Seth took Phin and Millie down to Ephraim for cousin Reed's baby blessing and I stayed home with Silas.
On Labor Day weekend I woke up bright and early for the Labor Day Triathlon at the local rec center. My final time was 1:38:31. My swim time improved to 8:47. My bike time was 50:07 and my run time was 35:34. The run was particularly hard for me as my heart rate was really high and I couldn't seem to get it to come down until I started to walk.
Millie is my biggest cheerleader and was very happy to see me back at home. She wakes up most mornings when I am working out.
After the race we headed to Lagoon with cousins.
We even went to Lagoon-A-Beach in the afternoon. We spent quite a bit of time floating around the lazy river.
We headed up to Nona's house to say our final goodbyes to Carver and Jeff. We said our goodbyes to Kim a few days before she left on a business trip. We will miss these three so much. It makes us wish that Arizona was a little bit closer.
One day at school, Phin pointed out this bird that he colored. He was so very proud of his work.
We decided on our Halloween costumes...hint we are going with a Toy Story 4 theme. Nona made this amazing Woody costume for cousin Max many years ago and we were so excited to see that it fits Phin perfectly.
We also took a little day trip down to Springville for the Quilt Show with Nona.
Seth and I had the rare opportunity to go to the Bountiful temple for a session on a Friday morning. Our kids were all at school and Seth and I both had the day off. After the temple we went out for lunch.
Once the kids were home we packed up the car and headed up to Island Park, Idaho for a weekend with Sarah and Joe's family.
We had about a 5 hour drive...and I can't tell you how many times Phin asked "how much longer."
The wait was worth it and Phin and Millie loved being reunited with their cousins.
After a yummy pizza dinner we headed out for a walk to the river.
Island Park was gorgeous!
The kids loved "fishing" for "seaweed."
We also spotted a huge group of kayakers.
The kids played and played back at the cabin.
We also let them watch Tangled together.
The next day we explored Yellowstone.
We took a long hike together to a geyser.
Harvey got tired so Joe put him in the Baby bjorn and Harvey some how managed to fall asleep.
Phin started to collect a number of sticks...I think he had three in one hand and one in the other.
Rachel wanted a view of the trail and kept peeking out the side of the backpack.
We finally made it to the geyser and the kids were rewarded with a huge sucker.
We waited quite a while for the geyser to go off. The kids loved exploring, playing in the dirt and being together while we waited.
On our way back to the cars...Phin decided to meditate.
I loved spotting Kate and Millie hand in hand.
We stopped at the Old Faithful Lodge for an ice cream.
These moments make my heart rejoice...I love seeing my kids with their cousins.
On the way out of the park we spotted some bison.
Sarah and Joe headed back to get dinner ready and we took a scenic drive to this spot.
Silas was quite dirty by the time we got home...so he got a tub in the cabin sink.
The next morning we went to sacrament meeting at the local church. There were TONS of visitors so we ended up in the Primary room and watched the service on a TV. Then we came back, had lunch, cleaned up and headed back out.
Joe recommended we take a scenic byway back and stop at Mesa Falls. The falls did not disappoint.
The kids got to touch some animal pellets in the Visitor's Center.
Then we said our goodbyes. Thank you to Sarah and Joe for inviting us along for the adventure. We had so much fun with your family!
Our air conditioning didn't work very well for the drive back...so we stopped and picked up some slushies to help us cool down.
We also celebrated Millie's birthday in September. She was so excited to wake up to presents, balloons and streamers.
We celebrated her birthday by going to Lagoon for Frightmares.
We also sent Seth, Phin, Jane, Scott, Bart and Aaron off on the go-carts.
It was fun to watch them race around and have a great time together.
Nona came out to Lagoon for lunch.
The kids loved walking through all the trick-or-treat spots.
The hay maze was favorite as always.
Later that night Seth and I headed back out to Lagoon on a date night. We rode Wicked, The Colossus and The"White" Roller coaster.
My favorite ride was our last...the sky ride.
The next day we celebrated Millie at Nona and Papa's with a frozen cupcake tower.
We also hit Gardner Village for the Witchfest in September.
Sometimes Silas gets a little too much "help" from Phin and Millie.
I finished the workout program 80 Day Obsession in September. I started at the beginning of the summer. This program was intense and consisted of 45-60 minute workouts for 6 days every week. I was proud of myself for sticking to it and getting it done.
Our neighbors threw their annual pizza party the last weekend in September. They invite current neighbors and former neighbors. It was fun to see Dallin, Zoey, Amy, Connor and Grace.
Silas loved playing in the neighbor's car.
He also loved the grocery cart car and was very unhappy to get out.
He was persuaded once we let him do the fishing booth.

We are finally figuring out a after school routine. It usually consists of a little downtime for Phin before we get started on homework. I loved this scene of Silas and Phin relaxing on the couch one afternoon.
We also decorated a haunted gingerbread house at the end of September. We are so excited that Halloween is almost here.
