Family Hiking Evening

We have continued our tradition of hiking on Monday evenings.  One of our favorite hikes was Adam's canyon.  The last time I hiked this was when my brothers were in the same singles ward as me...it was much harder hike than I remembered.

We loved the view of the waterfall at the top.

The sunset on the way down wasn't bad either.

We also hiked on the Farmington Creek trail above Lagoon...there were tons of trails in this area and we got a little lost but had a good time nonetheless.

We found a little cave along the way.

On Labor Day we hiked in the morning to Mary's Lake near Brighton Ski Resort.

Andrew knows just how to "hike"...man this kid has the life.

Park City Parade

Last weekend we headed to the Park City Parade of Homes...it was by far my favorite parade of this season.  The houses were so over the top...it is hard to believe that anyone has that much money.  We loved the views of Summit County and loved spending some extra time with Beth and Eliza.

This was our favorite bunk room.  I love the stairs and the little nooks by the bottom bunks.

There was definitely a trend for trough style sinks.

We also saw lots of copper details like the rain gutter in the picture below.

Our favorite homes were up near the Canyons ski resort.  Ski in and out...yes please.

We also thought this bunk room was fun.

Work Carnival

Seth's work hosted a carnival at a local park in August.  We "borrowed" our niece and nephew for the night...mostly so we wouldn't look out of place playing on all of the inflatables.  It was an awesome party! We played in the bouncy house, on the big slide and raced on the inflatable obstacle course.  We also tried our hand at the sports inflatable.

There were also tons of treats....dippin dots, popcorn, cookies, nachos, snow cones, etc.

There was also a balloon magician...pretty cool.

This may end up as our Christmas card picture...we shall see.

We got Phin's face painted.  He loved all of the attention and seemed to think the paintbrush tickled.

Did you expect anything other than Spiderman?

Seth's Best Friend's Wedding

Seth's best friend Matt got married in August.  A couple weeks before we hosted a non-traditional bachelor party up Millcreek Canyon.  I loved that all the girls were invited to the party.  As Seth will say...I hate for any fun to happen without me.  We roasted hot dogs and s'mores and caught up around the campfire.  It was nice to get to know Tonnie a little better.

The big day was a couple of weeks later.

Being down on temple square reminded me of the day Seth and I got married...sweet memories.  Three years down...eternity to go.

The reception was held in Tonnie's parent's backyard.  It was spectacular!  Some of my favorite details...The ice cream carts with pictures of the happy couple...

...flashlights and glass bulbs hanging from the trees

...a dance floor flanked with couches and pictures of the happy couple

...and sodas in glass bottles.

We also found a house that we can afford...seriously I always dreamed of having a playhouse like this when I was little.  I loved that cards for the couple were stashed in the little mailbox.

We had a great time at the reception.  My favorite memory is dancing with Seth and Phin.  We wish Matt and Tonnie all the happiness in the world.  Thank you for including us in your special day!
