PHIN'S SUPER PARTY

Phin had been looking forward to his birthday for months.  We had a notebook that we wrote down all of his party ideas in.  He was very specific about what he wanted...and mostly wanted a party like Millie's but with a superhero theme.

We went to the store to pick up doughnuts and balloons on the day of the party.  The balloon didn't quite survive all the way home.  In an effort to keep the balloon "safe" from Silas, Phin popped it.  But we hung it up outside anyway.   I also had a total mommy failure on another front.  Phin wanted to invite his school friends Talon and Andrew.  I didn't think it was a good idea for him to take the invitations to school so we sent them in the mail.  Monday was a Holiday and then our mail lady didn't pick up our mail on Tuesday.  So the invitations didn't get out until Wednesday and the party was Saturday.  Sadly the invitations were delivered after the party.  Both Talon and Andrew's mom texted me that they were sad they missed the party....I was sad that I hadn't been more organized with all the details.

As friends  arrived we met them in the driveway and drew superheros with sidewalk chalk.

Then everyone had pizza, grapes and oranges for lunch.

Our first activity was decorating a superhero mask.

I love this photo of our wolf pack...plus our neighbor a few doors down.

We had the kids run through the rungs of a ladder.

Then the kids did an obstacle course around the garden beds.

Then they played super hero, super hero, villian... our version of duck, duck. goose.

Then we did a Captain America shield throw.

While everyone was lined up for the games we got a group photo.

Then we did a Hulk Smash with some stomp rockets.

Next up was a Spiderman web throw with some sticky hands and a deck of cards.

Finally it was time for cake...chocolate with a peanut butter frosting.

Then Phin opened presents.

Phin had asked for a drone for months.  Seth researched drones and decided on this little red one.  It doesn't have a remote...so you just use your hands to guide it around.

It was a big hit...

The next day was Phin's real birthday so he woke up to some decorations.

Happy Birthday Phin!
