February 11th I woke up bright and early to run the Sweethearts 5K at our local rec center. I have signed up for their 2017 racing series and this was the first event. The weather was actually perfect for a run. It was little cold but not freezing and recent storms had pushed all of the yucky air out of the valley.
My official race time as 28:20. I made up my mind before the race started that I would run the entire time and I stuck to it. I was pretty proud of myself for setting a goal and not letting my doubts get in the way of my goal. I placed 7/33 for my age-group and 31/160 for my gender.
