Arcade

Seth decided that we needed to add an arcade to our basement.  He warmed me up to the idea little by little.  I even gave him a honey do list before I was willing to consider the idea and he consistently worked on the list until everything was done.  Then he got to work on his arcade.  First he bought a book on Amazon on how to build your own arcade.  Then he started designing his arcade using his AutoCAD program. He designed it so it would fit down our basement stairs and into the designated spot.  He found a co-worker that wanted to build one as well.  Conveniently this co-worker happened to have all of the tools needed to build the cabinet.  Seth spent several Saturdays in February and March working with the co-worker to build the cabinet.

They also painted the cabinet.

Then the cabinet came home and Seth spent time programming controls and setting up the games.  Here is a test run that Phin and Gavin gave the arcade over conference weekend.

On Saturday, April 15th we had an arcade open house and had friends and family over all day to test out the new arcade. Millie was delighted to play with cousin Jaclyn.

We also pulled out our Weykick game. 

Our nephew Max ended up winning the Weykick tournament and took home this sweet trophy.

 

Millie was happy to see Grandad...even if she is not smiling in the picture.

We also had a pinball tournament.

Phin didn't play many of the games at the open house but loved playing with his cousins.  He slept really well that night.
